I started The Lokun Organization because, as a teacher, I noticed my students needed some place to go after school to keep them from getting into trouble. My vision was a place that provided them with more than just academic help. Our students face a tremendous amount of stress and pressure from parents, each other, teachers, and, more importantly, themselves so a place that helps them be able to navigate their academic, emotional, and personal lives is crucial to their development. This organization not only helps students academically but helps shape them into financially responsible adults who understand their role in their communities, politics, and how their past helps them have better futures.
